Having qualified as a solicitor in 2008, Umar quickly progressed to head a legal department specialising in commercial and residential property transactions. Umar now acts as a consultant solicitor for a wide range of clients, from individuals to property developers and charities. Umar also provides training for junior lawyers and advises law firm owners on how to achieve legal best practice and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Umar also has a keen sense of social responsibility. He has been involved in promoting a sense of citizenship and community cohesion amongst young people, and advises a number of regional and national charities on a pro bono basis.
In his spare time, Umar enjoys reading, playing football, practicing martial arts and skiing.
