Head of Commercial Property

Location: West Midlands based (Hybrid and Flexible working)
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm)

Department: Commercial Property

We are seeking an experienced lawyer to lead our Commercial Property Team. This is a leadership role with responsibility for managing and growing the team, developing client relationships, and driving the revenue growth with the support of our Business Development team.

About the Role

You’ll manage a busy and varied caseload of commercial property work, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, development projects, and refinancing. Alongside your fee-earning work, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the department, supervise colleagues, and play a key role in shaping its future.

This is both a hands-on and strategic position, giving you the opportunity to work on high-quality transactions while also shaping business development strategies to expand our client base and strengthen our market presence. You will enjoy a strong connection with the Board, and for the right candidate progression through to becoming a Partner will be actively encouraged.

About the role

  • Leading and managing the Commercial Property Team, including recruitment, training and development of staff
  • Handling a broad range of commercial property transactions
  • Working closely with our marketing and business development team to promote the department and attract new clients

Head of Family

Location: Merry Hill Office
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm)

We are seeking an experienced Family Solicitor to lead our Family Team. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for managing and growing the department, developing strong client relationships, and driving the revenue growth with the support of our Business Development team.

About the Role

You’ll manage a busy and varied caseload of private family law matters. Alongside your fee-earning work, you’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the department, supervise colleagues, and play a key role in shaping its future.

This is both a hands-on and strategic position, giving you the opportunity to work closely with clients during some of the most important periods of their lives, while developing the departments profile, service offering and growth strategy. You will enjoy a strong connection with the Partners, and for the right candidate progression through to becoming a Partner and member of the Board will be actively encouraged.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the Family Team, including recruitment, training and development of staff
  • Handling a broad range of privately funded family law matters
  • Working closely with our marketing and business development team to promote the department and attract new clients
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, agents, and other professionals
  • Meeting billing targets and monitoring departmental performance
  • Managing departmental complaints, file reviews, appraisals and performance management
  • Monitoring departmental performance, billing targets and profitability

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified solicitor with extensive experience in Family Law (ideally 6+ years PQE)

  • Commercially aware, with a proven ability to generate work and grow a department

Legal Secretary – Private Client | Merry Hill

Location: Merry Hill Office
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm)

NBB Waldrons is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Private Client team based at our Merry Hill office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to become part of a supportive and professional legal team. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the department by providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support to fee earners while delivering excellent client service.

This role is fully office-based and offers the opportunity to work within a busy and well-established Private Client department handling matters including wills, probate, estate administration and lasting powers of attorney.

About the Role

As a Legal Secretary within our Private Client team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence and contracts
  • Audio typing and transcription of dictations with a high level of accuracy
  • Managing diaries, appointments and emails using Microsoft Outlook
  • Liaising professionally with clients, colleagues and external contacts
  • Maintaining organised electronic and paper filing systems
  • Supporting administrative tasks including data entry and document management
  • Assisting with spreadsheets and tracking information using Microsoft Excel
  • Prioritising tasks effectively to support the team and meet deadlines

About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment and takes pride in producing accurate, professional work.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Private Client Legal Secretary or in a similar role within a law firm
  • Excellent audio typing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong administrative and organisational abilities
