Charity duck race set to make a splash at The Waterfront

Wednesday 24th June 2026

The Black Country Duck Race and Family Festival in aid of The Mary Stevens Hospice will take place at The Waterfront, Brierley Hill, on Sunday 28th June.

Proudly sponsored by NBB Waldrons and Blackthorns Chartered Accountants, this year’s event will kick off at 12pm, the event will feature live music, family entertainment, stalls, and street food – with the duck race starting at 3.30pm.

A £100 cash prize, with second and third prizes and the Mick Bailey Memorial Trophy up for grabs.

James Totney, Deputy Head of Fundraising at the Oldswinford based hospice, said: “We’re so excited to bring this event back to the Waterfront following the last four years of success.

“It’s a fantastic day out for all the family and helps us raise vital funds so we can continue to support the local community when they need us.”

Sponsored by us and Blackthorns Chartered Accountants. This event is also supported by Alcedo Care, Bailey’s Tackle and The Waterfront. The event supports the hospice’s mission to raise £4.6 million annually.

NBB Waldrons, who are returning sponsors for the event, will be present on the day with their team and bespoke corporate ducks. Embracing their Wills and Probate Team mantra “Get your ducks in a row”, NBB Waldrons are putting their creative spin on the race with a specially decorated duck making its grand debut.

Ducks are available to buy online or at the event (while supplies last).
