NBB Waldrons has strengthened its Residential Conveyancing team with the appointment of experienced property solicitor Paul Kettle at Merry Hill and residential conveyancer Martin Karabin in Birmingham, adding further expertise for people buying and selling homes across the West Midlands.
Paul joins as Residential Conveyancing Solicitor and Office Lead at Merry Hill. Having qualified in September 2005, he brings more than 20 years’ experience in property law, including senior responsibility for residential conveyancing teams.
He began his legal career at Rees Page Solicitors in Wolverhampton before joining Talbots Solicitors in Stourbridge in 2006, working in commercial property. In 2013, he joined Green LLP in Wolverhampton, where his work encompassed commercial property and an increasing number of residential transactions. He became Head of Residential Conveyancing there in 2020.
His experience of the local property market and the practical challenges involved in moving home will support clients across Merry Hill, Dudley, Stourbridge and the wider Black Country.
“Having worked across the Black Country for much of my career, I know how important it is for clients to feel informed and supported when buying or selling a home. It can be an exciting time, but there are often deadlines and unexpected complications to manage. I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues at NBB Waldrons and helping clients navigate the process with confidence.”, said Paul.
Outside work, Paul spends time with his wife and teenage children. He chairs Walsall Artistic Swimming Club, where his daughter Millie swims, and serves on the senior and junior committees atSwindon Cricket Club, Staffs, occasionally playing alongside his son Zak. A Wolves supporter and keen cricket fan, he also enjoys following the England cricket team abroad.
Over the M5, Martin joined the firm’s Birmingham office in September as a Residential Conveyancer. He studied Law at Birmingham City University, graduating with an LLB before completing postgraduate studies in International Business Law.
He started his legal career at a family firm near Tyseley, gaining experience in residential conveyancing, immigration and private client work. He now focuses on supporting clients through residential property sales and purchases, bringing a practical, client-centred approach to each transaction.
Martin adds, “Moving home is a big step, whether it’s your first purchase or your next move. Clients appreciate clear explanations and regular updates, and that’s the kind of service I want to provide. I’m enjoying getting to know the team and looking forward to building relationships with clients across Birmingham.”
Away from the office, Martin enjoys family time, DIY projects, volleyball, cinema trips and watching films and television.
Belinda Hill, Partner and Head of Residential Conveyancing at NBB Waldrons, welcomed the appointments:
“Paul and Martin bring valuable but different experience to the team. Paul’s background in property law and team leadership will be particularly helpful at Merry Hill, while Martin strengthens our Birmingham offering. Good conveyancing is about more than completing paperwork: it is about being approachable, communicating clearly and helping people feel reassured at every stage. I’m delighted to welcome them both.”
The appointments reflect NBB Waldrons’ continued investment in its Residential Conveyancing services across the West Midlands.
