NBB Waldrons Founder & Group CEO Rob Bhol has completed The King’s Trust CEO Challenge, raising more than £23,000 to help create opportunities for young people across the UK.
Rob joined 49 other CEOs and senior business leaders for the three-day challenge in the Scottish Highlands, stepping away from the boardroom to take on a series of demanding activities designed to test teamwork, trust, resilience and leadership.
Taking place as part of The King’s Trust’s 50th anniversary year, the challenge saw participants navigate rugged Highland terrain, tackle a series of wilderness activities and brave icy waters before completing the journey at The Duke of Rothesay Highland Games Pavilion.
More than £23,000 raised for The King’s Trust
Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, clients, friends, family and supporters, Rob received over 155 donations and raised £23,241plus GiftAid, exceeding his original £20,000 fundraising target.
Collectively, the CEO Challenge participants have raised more than £500,000, with fundraising remaining open until the final total is announced later this month.
The funds raised will support The King’s Trust in its work helping young people develop the confidence, skills and opportunities they need to move into employment, education and training.
Reflecting on the event, Rob said: “Completing the challenge was an incredible experience, but what will stay with me most isn’t the miles we covered, the cold water or the physical challenges. It’s the people and the reason we were all there.
“Hearing directly from the young ambassadors about the obstacles they have faced and what the support of The King’s Trust has meant to them put everything into perspective. Their honesty, courage and resilience were genuinely inspiring.
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who supported me, whether by donating, sharing the fundraising page or simply sending a message of encouragement. To have received over 155 donations and raised more than £23,000 is something I could never have achieved alone. Every contribution will help The King’s Trust continue giving young people the opportunity and support they deserve.
“It was also a privilege to complete the challenge alongside such a supportive group of business leaders. We started as individuals from different organisations and industries, but very quickly became a team united by the same purpose.”
A challenge with a lasting purpose
Throughout the three days, participants were joined by young ambassadors from The King’s Trust who shared their own experiences and the challenges they had overcome.
Their stories provided a powerful reminder of the purpose behind the event and of the wider work of The King’s Trust, which is celebrating 50 years of supporting young people in 2026.
Rob also thanked Jonathan Townsend, Chief Executive of The King’s Trust, the charity’s staff and everyone involved in planning and delivering the challenge, together with his fellow participants and the organisations that supported the event.
The relationship also reflects NBB Waldrons’ wider commitment to supporting charities, community organisations and initiatives across the Midlands and London.
Fundraising continues
Although the challenge itself is complete, fundraising remains open until the end of October.
Anyone wishing to recognise Rob’s achievement and support The King’s Trust can still make a donation through his fundraising page: https://events.kingstrust.org.uk/fundraisers/robbhol/ceo-challenge
