Education Law Pricing
Our overall fees will vary depending on the complexity of your matter and the level of support you require. We are always happy to discuss your circumstances and provide a tailored estimate before any work is undertaken.
To give you an indication of how we charge, and in line with SRA price transparency rules, we have set out details of our fees below.
Our charges are made up of:

our fees for the legal work;

‘disbursements’ (where applicable) – these are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties.
Where VAT is referred to below, please note that this will be charged at the applicable rate, which is currently 20%.
How much do we charge?
Initial consultation
We offer an initial consultation at a fixed fee:

2-hour consultation: £400 + VAT
This allows us to understand your situation, provide initial advice, and outline potential next steps.
Our fees
Our fees for Education Law matters are typically charged on an hourly basis, depending on the level of experience of the fee earner handling your case.
Our hourly rates are as follows:

Consultant: £400 + VAT per hour

Head of Department: £325 + VAT per hour

Associate Solicitor: £300 + VAT per hour

Solicitor: £275 + VAT per hour

Trainee Solicitor: £250 + VAT per hour

Paralegal: £200 + VAT per hour

Legal Administrator: £175 + VAT per hour
The total cost will depend on the complexity of your case, the level of support required, and the time involved in progressing your matter. We will always provide you with the best possible estimate at the outset and keep you updated as your matter progresses.
Other costs to consider
Depending on the nature of your matter, there may be additional costs (known as disbursements) payable to third parties. We will discuss these with you in advance where relevant.
